Heritage Lobbo for St John

Rain didn’t dampen the crowd’s generosity at the annual Heritage Hotel Charity Night held during the ASB Classic, the women's international tennis tournament, early January. The centre court event coordinated by the host hotel, Heritage Auckland, was held for charity recipient St John. The evening event is held each year in between the singles and doubles matches. The audience, at an appointed time, ‘lob’ pre-purchased numbered tennis balls in to two barrels on centre court for a chance of Heritage Auckland prizes, creating a spectacular sight.

The Heritage Auckland Lobbo event raised a record $6,200 from ball sales alone; almost double last year’s result. Following the lobbo was a quick auction of a few exclusive items bringing the total raised for St John to $16,000 in the 30 minute centre court spot. 'Heritage Hotels are delighted to partner St John in this spectacular event. The audience showed their wonderful appreciation of St John which they so richly deserve,' says Susan Gibson of Heritage Hotel Management.
