Events & Venues Rotorua surprises Wellington buyers

Wellington meeting organisers were kept guessing when they were hosted to lunch by Events & Venues Rotorua in August. Collected by coach from Wellington Convention Centre at 9.30am, they headed to the Air National Terminal at Wellington Airport for a charter flight to Rotorua on a Jet Stream 19 seater aircraft.

From the airport they were transferred to the Rotorua lake front by K-Jet jet boat before arriving for lunch at the Te Runanga Tea House. The four-course lunch of crayfish and venison was catered by the Energy Events Centre catering team and the Tea House was themed by Event Impressions. Key Rotorua operators joined the guests for lunch which was followed by a famil of the Energy Events Centre. The Wellingtonians were back in the capital by 4.00pm.

Tasmania hosts NZ PCOs

A group of New Zealand corporate incentive and event organisers literally had a taste of Tasmania to start their familiarisation of the state late May. A visit to Josef Chromy winery, which included wine and cheese tasting, and dinner at the Gorge Restaurant in Launceston were highlights of the first day on the itinerary for the group. The programme was hosted by Business Events Tasmania, Business Events Australia and Qantas.

The group started its second day with a helicopter flight to the dramatic coastal location of Freycinet, before moving on to Hobart on day three. The final evening was a night for kings and queens, dukes and duchesses, princes and these princesses when the New Zealand familiarisation group had their farewell to Tasmania gala function at Meadowbank Estate, Hobart. On the menu (among other things) were suckling pig, roasted over a wood fire, roasted winter vegetables and baked apples.
